Enabot EBO X: Voice Commands & Setup
The EBO X is the little rolling robot that follows you around the house, films in 4K, and — once you turn it on — talks back using a GPT AI assistant. This is the whole thing on one page: the wake word, every command worth knowing, how to set it up the first time, and how to switch on the AI. Plain English, nothing skipped.
The one thing to remember
Voice commands
Group the commands in your head by what they do: move the robot, talk to the AI, and everyday Alexa stuff. Here they are.
- EBO EBO, follow me!It tracks you around the house and keeps you centered in the camera.
- Alexa, Robot stand upRaises the camera up to its tall position.
- Alexa, Robot sit downLowers back to resting height.
- Alexa, Robot follow meSame follow mode, asked through Alexa.
- Alexa, Robot go back to chargeSends it home to the charging base.
- Open ChatGPTAny one of these starts AI chat mode.
- Switch to ChatGPT mode
- Start to chat with GPT
- Turn on GPT
- Let's chat
- I want to talk with GPTYou'll hear a “deng” tone and the light glows — now just talk.
- Exit GPTLeaves AI chat, back to normal.
- Quit GPT mode
- Disable GPT
- Bye GPT
- Bye byeThe friendly way to end the chat.
- Alexa, read me a storyBooks, news, audiobooks — it's a full Echo inside.
- Alexa, speak slowerHandy if it's talking too fast.
- Alexa, tell me a jokePlus weather, timers, reminders, music.
- Alexa, what's the weather? All standard Alexa skills work once it's linked.
Note: the Alexa movement commands use a wake name (shown here as “Robot”) that you set when you link Alexa in the app — use whatever name you chose.
Talking to the AI, step by step
This is the headline feature and it's the part people miss, so here's the slow version:
- Say a start phrase. “Open ChatGPT” or “Let's chat” both work.
- Wait for the signal. EBO X makes a soft “deng” sound and its ambient light glows/pulses. That means the AI is listening.
- Just talk. Ask it anything the way you'd ask ChatGPT — questions, ideas, “explain this,” “help me write…” It answers out loud.
- End when done. Say “Bye bye” or “Exit GPT” to drop back to normal mode.

First-time setup
From box to talking robot is five steps. Do them in order and it goes smoothly.
- Charge it fully. Set EBO X on its charging base and let it top off before the first run.
- Get the app. Install EBO HOME from the Apple App Store or Google Play and make an account. (This is the current app — it covers EBO X and the Air 2 line.)
- Pair it to Wi-Fi. In the app tap to add a device, pick EBO X, and join it to your home Wi-Fi. Keep the robot close to the router for this part.
- Update the firmware. Open Settings in the app and install any available update. This is what switches on the GPT assistant and the newest features — don't skip it.
- Link Alexa (optional). In the app's Alexa section, sign in to your Amazon account. Now the “Alexa…” commands above all work.
Updates ARE the upgrades
People ask what add-ons or accessories make the EBO X smarter. The honest answer: there are no third-party AI add-ons — Enabot keeps the robot locked. The way it gets better is the company pushing free firmware updates over the app (the GPT voice chat being the big one). So the single best upgrade move is also the simplest:
The only physical “accessories” are small maintenance parts (charging base, wheels) in the $6–$22 range — useful for upkeep, but they don't change what the robot can do.
Tips & quick fixes
- Not responding? Start with the wake word — “EBO EBO” first, then your command. Most “it's ignoring me” moments are a missed wake word.
- GPT phrases do nothing? Update the firmware (above). The AI mode only exists on current firmware.
- Speak normally and clearly from a few feet away — it hears better than you'd expect, but background TV competes with it.
- Privacy: it has a 4K camera and mic. Use the app's privacy/sleep controls when you don't want it watching, and keep it on a Wi-Fi network with a strong password.
- It can call you back. Through the app you can see and talk through EBO X from your phone while you're away — good for checking on family or pets.
