Tesla confirmed that over 1,000 Optimus humanoid robots are now working inside the Gigafactory Texas facility — sorting parts, carrying components, and performing quality inspections alongside human workers. Elon Musk posted video of Optimus units walking between production lines, picking up parts with their dexterous hands, and placing them precisely. “This is just the beginning,” Musk wrote on X. “By end of 2026, Optimus will be available for purchase. The $20,000 humanoid robot for your home.” Giga Texas is both where Optimus is manufactured AND where it works — the factory literally builds itself.
