Amazon plans to invest more than $100 million in a 585,000 square foot advanced manufacturing facility in Greenwood, Indiana. It will make products for Amazon's fulfillment and robotics network across North America and should open by 2028 with about 300 skilled jobs.
Amazon says it has built more than one million robots in the U.S. so far, deployed across more than 300 facilities. The Indiana plant follows an August robotics manufacturing investment in Texas.
Why it matters: Amazon is the largest robot operator in logistics, and it is building its own domestic supply chain to keep that fleet growing.
