Flourish, a startup split between San Francisco and Paris, is opening sales for Flourish One, a $3,555 wheeled, humanoid style home robot powered by Raspberry Pi. Owners can teach it new chores in under 30 minutes using only a smartphone.
Founder Antoine Marcel is aiming at busy parents, not factories. The first batch is 50 robots, using per home cloud training and phone based teleoperation.
Why it matters: most humanoid startups avoid the messy home. A low price, small batch launch is a cheap way to learn what families actually want robots to do.
